About the MVSU Foundation
The Mississippi Valley State University Foundation is the official fundraising and gift-receiving organization for Mississippi Valley State University and other donor-designated units of the MVSU Donor system.
WHAT IS THE MVSU FOUNDATION’S RELATIONSHIP TO MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY?
The Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization, which raises funds and receives gifts for Mississippi Valley State University. An elected board of directors oversees its assets and activities. The Foundation works closely with the University to determine and support fundraising priorities.
WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE FOUNDATION, MVSU NATIONAL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION?
Established by a small group of loyal volunteers, the MVSU Foundation was one of two organizations created by visionary MVSUPresident Dr. James Herbert White working to ensure a productive future for Mississippi Valley State University.
The other member of the dynamic duo included the MVSU NAA which was established to maintain contact with far-flung graduates. The Foundation completed the duo to encourage a growing practice of making gifts to the University. To find out more information on a National Alumni Chapter in your area visit (provide website link the the NAA here).
Thanks to the generosity of alumni and friends, the Foundation has supported the University with funding since 1950.
